If you love (adore, worship) 80’s new wave and punk, you’ve probably listened to SiriusXM’s 1st Wave channel. The DJ’s are almost always spot on. DJ Larry the Duck is a fantastic . Oh and the Saturday Night Safety Dance is so mint it should be played in clubs instead of just in your car (although it really does create some nice car-dancing moments).

The kids at SiriusXM 1st Wave have banned together auction a one-hour guest DJ spot. The charity they are raising money for the WhyHunger, which describes itself as “a leader in building the movement to end hunger and poverty by connecting people to nutritious, affordable food and by supporting grassroots solutions that inspire self-reliance and community empowerment.”

Nice enough stuff for a lovely hour spent in a NY City radio studio.

Unfortunately I’m stuck in London, but hopefully they meet their goal. Even more, I hope whoever wins does a killer job at DJ-ing. The benefit is really an amazing opportunity to have fun and raise money for charity (do I sound like PR? Oh fuck it). You can bid through December 17th.
